Okay, so it wasnt a spectacular success, in fact you can't see that the bottom is all caved in, but my hubby ate the crumbs and found them spectacular enough and pronounced it good enough to eat without frosting, so I'm off the hook for making another mess in the kitchen. This is a homemade chocolate angel food cake. It takes about an hour to just get it mixed up.
As his birthday is once every 4 years, it's worth the wait for him to get this specially done cake on leap day!

Angel food cake is my favorite, but I've never tried to make it myself.
